Little River Winery – FAIL!

Living next to the Swan Valley you are really spoilt for choice on places to eat. My previous experience with the Little River Winery was also rather poor but memorable. It involved one of the ladies that worked there running and shouting after a leaving customer because he hadn’t paid his $1 tasting fee! Anyway that was a couple of years ago, so we thought that we would give it another go. After being seated we were told at least 5 times that the restaurant and the Cellar were separate businesses. I overhead this being told to other customers as well. Great! Good on you! But really do you have to bother the customer with these type of details. Learn to operate in a more symbiotic way and let the customer relax and eat. The restaurant feels like you are sitting in someone’s backyard, and bit ramshackle and thrown together. Anyway the menu was OK, but prices seem to be rather inflated and more inline with what you would expect to pay at a nice restaurant in the city. The food definitely didn’t match the price! I left disappointed and actually a bit mad with myself. So many places in the Valley that you can great food – Chesters, Upper Reach and Chocolate Factory to name a few.

The Little River Winery is being permanently removed from my list on places to go.
